The legendary Colony Room Club in Dean Street, central London, has been a bastion of Soho society for some 60 years.
Founded by Muriel Belcher, this one-room drinking den has played host to countless artists, entertainers and other ne'er-do-wells, including Damien Hurst, Tracey Emin, Lisa Stansfield and the world-renowned artist and boozer-de-luxe, Francis Bacon.
The Colony is facing a challenge to survive. In December this year the lease on its premises expires and its future is uncertain.
The demise of the Colony would mark the final nail in the coffin of traditional Soho. As the area gradually becomes over-run with over-priced coffee bars, sprauncy boutiques and grouchy media watering-holes, the area's bohemian heritage is fast disappearing.
We need your support if the club is to continue to enlarge the livers of the capital's great and good. Please sign below to endorse our efforts to keep the Colony Room Club alive and as vibrant a part of Soho as it has been for six decades.
